How to Increase Traffic to Your Hotel Website with Google My Business

Google recently launched Google My Business.
"Oh no" I hear you cry "Not another log-in that I have to manage for my hotel!"

I hear your cries and believe me, I feel your pain as we manage these log-ins for some of our clients!

Well, the good news is that this new interface covers your Google Places and Google + information so, it' all in one place. And, it should make it quicker and easier for you to update your information and photos.

So, now it's one login for all of the Google channels that display information to users about your hotel, including:

  • Google Search
  • Google Maps
  • Google+ and Google Hotel Finder.

But, we have had quite a few questions from our clients. So, if you're wondering what's happened to your Google map listing or if you still have access to the information you uploaded previously on your Google + page, first of all: don't panic, it should all be there and read on......

The Google travel team have also created a Google My Business Quick Start Guide for Hoteliers which they sent to me and I thought it would be a good idea to share this guide with our hotels clients. It explains how to:

  1. Verify your pages on Google
  2. Ensure your hotel information on Google is correct
  3. Upload photos that will create a great impression of your hotel to potential customers across Google
